Sarah Filley, Studio Visit

below, picture of a birds of prey, a boar sword and a feather. Inspiration for a new set of drawings by Oakland artist Sarah Filley to be presented at Zza's Wine Bar in Oakland one week from Saturday.

"My studio looks different in my mind." Sarah Filley said as I came into her workspace in West Oakland.

She corrected me that they are drawings...drawings with a brush. She is not a painter.

She described the current push is largely a thematic exploration of the labors of Hercules. There is a psycho-sexual thread to the archetypical motifs she has chosen for this series.
The new work by Sarah Filley that she will debut at Zza's on April 4th represents a leap forward in her portfolio.
